Course Curriculum

In this class, we will explore the intrinsic relationship between mathematics and art. Students will learn about foundational mathematical ideas and how they have influenced different art forms over time. Students will play an active role in their own learning and that of their classmates. During each class, we will focus on a specific concept in lecture and group discussion. Projects will be assigned weekly, in which students will create their own artwork inspired by that week's mathematical idea. On the final day of the course, we will have a gallery showing in the classroom, showcasing all of the art work students have created throughout the course. This exhibition will be accompanied by thoughtful critiques of each other’s work.
